Palestinian reports indicate that a 22-year-old West Bank resident was shot dead by Israeli forces during a protest near Ramallah on Friday.
According to Ma'an news agency, Ahmad Mohammad al-Qatari, a resident of the al-Amari refugee camp near Ramallah, was killed during a demonstration that took place close to the Israeli settlement of Psagot.
Ma'an reported on Friday that al-Qatari was shot in the chest. According to Channel 10 news, Israeli troops were responding to what sounded like gunfire in the direction of the settlement.
Palestinians also reported that at least 50 people were injured across the West Bank in a series of clashes with the IDF. Heavy unrest was reported in the southern West Bank city of Hebron, according to Ma'an.
In the month since hostilities between Israel and Hamas escalated in the Gaza Strip, 15 Palestinians in the West Bank have died in clashes with IDF troops.
