The IDF continued its attempts to uncover and destroy Hamas's cross-border network of tunnels on Operation Protective Edge's 24th day on Thursday.
Detecting and demolishing tunnels used to infiltrate southern Israel has been one of the central missions of the IDF during the Gaza operation.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Thursday that Israel would not accept any cease-fire that did not allow for the IDF to complete its mission of destroying the tunnels.
OC Southern Command Major-General Sami Turgeman said Wednesday that the IDF had discovered dozens of tunnel shafts thus far, and would complete the mission of destroying the underground network in the coming days.
