International Pairs qualifier kicks off at Ga’ash
Playing in the first qualifying round of the International Pairs competition at the Ga’ash Golf Club were two special guests.

Playing in the first qualifying round of the International Pairs competition at
the Ga’ash Golf Club were two special guests. Disabled war veterans Shlomo Ivgi,
who was injured in the Yom Kippur War, and Eli Sharira, injured in 1981 in the
Lebanon War, hit the links at Ga’ash.
Eight teams qualified for the final
to be held at the beginning of July.
The best score was held by Greg
Elliot and Dani Levin with 43 stableford points, followed by Aryeh Merdler and
Itzik Ashkenazi and the duo of Erez Yacobi Shai Brosh on 41.

For the first time the Ga’ash Golf Club also added a trophy for
the best gross score of the day in the Monthly Medal held on Tuesday May 28.
Amos Aharoni won both the gross and net in the A division for the first time
with the new format.
Amos, scoring an excellent gross 77 and playing with
a 9 handicap, had a net 68.
For the second month in a row Ga’ash Golf
Club’s Pro shop worker Shmulik Almagor finished in second place with a net 69
after a count out with Idan Chayut.
The B division was won by Norma
Kaufman with Peter Biberstein taking second place.
Yossie Roll, who has
only being playing golf for 10 months, won the C division. Aude Amaraggi was

The players at Ga’ash
Golf Club are now looking forward to the final qualifying round of the
International Pairs competition and the Ezra tournament to be held during the
month of June.
