Outfielders Chaim Schon and Yanky Itzkowitz each hit a pair of towering 2- run
homers to power the Morningside Translations Warriors past the Bodner Flom
Blackhawks 33-5 at Gezer Thursday.
The Warriors bats were scorching as
each of the 10 batters had at least two runs, two hits and one RBI
apiece.
The young guns led the way with Itzkowitz finishing 5- for-6 with
6 RBIs and five runs scored, while Schon filled out the stat sheet with four
runs scored and five ribbies from the lead-off spot.
Veteran Danny Fax
also had a big night, going 4-for-4 with 4 RBIs, before stepping aside for team
elder statesman Yomi Groner, who made his first appearance since the season
opener and closed out the game for the save.
“We’re coming together at
the right time and really gelling as a team,” said manager Aron Heller, who
returned from an illness that kept him out of the first two games of his Warrior
career.
“With the cadre of young talent that we have in place together
with our veteran leadership, I feel very confident going into the playoffs.”
