Kaufmans reign at sunny Ga’ash Golf Club

Cyril Kaufman took the men’s championship, his wife Norma captured the ladies’ title and Ilan Mendelson was top senior.

It was all in the family at the 2012 Club Championships at the Ga’ash Golf Club
held at the end of last week. Cyril Kaufman took the men’s club championship,
his wife Norma captured the ladies’ title and Ilan Mendelson triumphed in the
super senior division for 2012.
C. Kaufman won the title for the second
year in a row which makes it his seventh title.
The golf course was in
great condition over the two days. The players found scoring difficult on the
first day but much improved on the second day.
Kaufman followed his 75 on
the first day with a one over par 71 on the second day which included a front
nine 36 with 2 birdies, 4 pars, 3 bogeys and came in with 35 with 2 birdies, 5
pars and 2 bogeys.
The best score of the tournament was made by the
runner up Gideon Hoch who had 18 pars on the second day to go around in even par
70 to follow his 78 on the first day.
N. Kaufman impressed in the
competitive ladies’ division with second place going to Linda
Streit.
Mendelson stormed to first in the super senior’s division
followed by Yeruham Shafat.
The net prizes in the men’s A division went
to Yoav Shenhav followed by Amiram Zantkern and, in the super seniors, to
Eliezer Peleg followed by Brian Galgut.
Judy Reefe won the net in the
woman’s A followed by Esti Noy. Adale Katz took the bruto in the woman’s B
division with Hadasah Alon in second place and the net was won by Gisele Cababie
with Marilyn Cooper the runner up.
Nearest to the pin prizes sponsored by
the Greenfield restaurant at the Ga’ash Golf Club went to: Michael Cohen, Miki
Herzog, Shmulik Almagor and Richard Fogelson.
