After Monday's disappointing loss to Croatia, Israel turns its attention to Tuesday's crucial encounter against Macedonia. Macedonia was thrashed 86-54 by Greece in its tournament opener on Monday, falling to an early 18-3 deficit from which it would never come back. American-born Real Madrid forward Jeremiah Massey was Macedonia's only player to score in double-figures, contributing 12 points. The Macedonians were also outrebounded 40-23 and shot just 19.2 percent (5 of 26) from three-point range. Even before Monday's loss it was always clear that the game against Macedonia was Israel's best chance to win in Poland. Veteran playmaker Vrbica Stefanov, who is often the team's most dangerous player, scored just three points against Greece, hitting one of 10 shots. Todor Gecevski and Pero Antic are the side's dominant big men, with Predrag Samargiski (23, 2.15m) also a threat in the paint. Riste Stefanov and Dime Tasovski are also key players on coach Jovica Arsic's roster, which will be looking to rebound from Monday's defeat at Israel's expense.
