Israeli golf history was made last week when the Professional Golf Association of Israel arranged a match between the Ga’ash and Caesarea golf clubs for the first time.
The two-day stableford tournament saw Caesarea’s 20-man team emerge with a combined 65-point victory.
The first day was held at the Ga’ash golf club last Wednesday with the Ga’ash team having a slight lead. But Caesarea bounced back on its home course on Saturday amid warm and windy conditions that proved too difficult to handle for the Ga’ash players.
The trophy was presented to Barry Shaked, the captain of the Caesarea team, by Ga’ash top professional Basil Katz and Caesarea top professional Andy Santos.
Santos thanked Ga’ash CEO Gili Peleg and Caesarea CEO Galit Polansky for hosting the tournament at their respective clubs.
