Omri Casspi was introduced as a Sacramento Kings player in front of some 3,000 local fans in the city's Marshall Park on Saturday evening in a meet-and-greet with fellow Kings draftees Tyreke Evans and Jon Brockman.
The 21-year-old, who left Israel for California early Saturday morning, was selected with the 23rd overall pick in Thursday's NBA draft, becoming the first Israeli to get drafted in the first round.

"This is kind of new to me," said Casspi after receiving a warm welcome from the local supporters. "I didn't know what to expect, but I am happy to be here and to see the fans really like us and want us to succeed."
Next up for Casspi is the NBA Summer League, starting on July 10 in Las Vegas.
A weakened Sacramento roster will be playing five games over 10 days in Vegas, meaning Casspi will be given plenty of opportunities to prove his worth.
"On the flight to San Francisco, we finally had some time to sleep and realize what happened," said Casspi. "I know a lot more about the Kings now. The city is great. The fans are amazing.
"The team struggled a little bit last year. I'll just do what I can to help. I don't want to rush it, but I want to eventually be regarded as one of the best players in the game."
