Hapoel Holon and Maccabi Tel Aviv are the only unbeaten teams in the BSL after the newly promoted side defeated visiting Ironi Ramat Gan 94-85 on Monday. Holon trailed throughout most of the game and was down by 13 points after three periods. A 22-2 run by Hapoel to start the fourth quarter, however, turned the game on its head and the hosts, who were playing their first home game in the top division in more than six years, claimed their second straight league win. P.J. Tucker led five Holon players in double figures with 17 points, with Eric Campbell and Malik Dixon each adding 16 points. Michael Kuebler scored 26 points for the losers and Nir Cohen scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Campbell scored the first four points of the game, but Cohen's three pointer midway through the first period gave the visitors a lead (9-6) they would maintain until the break. A triple by Kuebler followed by Jerome Beasley's basket gave Ironi a nine point cushion (26-17), but Dixon's superb offensive skills kept Holon within touching distance. Chester Simmons' jumper at the buzzer tied the score at 41-41 and the momentum seemed to be shifting the hosts' way. Ramat Gan, however, began the second half with a 12-2 run that was capped by Tolbert's two points. Hapoel ate away at the margin as the period progressed and a 12-0 quarter ending run gave Ironi a commanding 72-59 lead. Tony Washam's steal and dunk at the start of the fourth quarter woke-up the home fans and the hosts surged ahead. Amit Tamir's jumper tied the score at 74-74 and Tucker's basket midway through the period gave Holon its first lead in more than 30 minutes. Ramat Gan had no answer for Tucker's strength and the American guard's three point move increased Hapoel's gap to seven points (81-74). The visitors finally found their scoring touch and managed to close within three points. It would, however, be as close as Ramat Gan would come, with Washam's three with 40 seconds remaining in the game opening a 91-85 lead and securing the hosts' win.
