Hapoel Jerusalem will face Ironi Ramat Gan on Sunday night without American center Marcus Slaughter, who was released from the team over the weekend after violating the club's code of conduct. Slaughter, who only played 10 games for the team, was dropped from Hapoel's roster after club officials claimed to have caught him with an escort girl during the side's stay in Strasbourg last week for a ULEB Cup game. Jerusalem, which has won three straight games in the BSL, will be looking for its first road victory of the season against Ironi. Jerusalem is 0-5 away from home in all competitions and will have an ideal opportunity to finally claim the elusive win against the rock bottom Ramat Gan. Ironi has lost three straight games and hasn't won at home since the first week of the season. Maccabi Tel Aviv's game against Ironi Ashkelon on Sunday night has taken on an unexpected importance. After losing two straight games in the BSL, Maccabi will be desperate to claim a convincing victory against a vastly inferior Ashkelon side. Tel Aviv's 19 and 12 point losses to Bnei Hasharon and Hapoel Holon proved beyond doubt that the perennial champion is currently vulnerable on the road, even against teams it was accustomed to beating comfortably in the past. Holon will hope to build on its stunning victory against Tel Aviv when it visits Maccabi Rishon Lezion on Sunday. Hapoel has won two games in a row after losing two consecutive encounters and will be confident against a Rishon team which has lost three of its four home games so far this season. Also Sunday, Hapoel Galil Elyon hosts Hapoel Afula/Gilboa at Kfar Blum. On Monday, Bnei Hasharon visits Ironi Nahariya in a battle for first place.
