Top two teams to face off in Night Cricket Cup League

The Night Cricket Cup League’s first and secondplaced teams will go head to head this Saturday evening when Telalivit faces off against Super Lions Modi’in in a match which will feature no less than 12 current and past Israeli international cricketers.
Unbeaten Telalivit, which last week beat muchimproved inHasharon.co.il by 38 runs, will be aware of the threat that Modi’in captain Yefet Nagavkar can pose.
Telalivit captain Herschel Gutman will be hoping that his mates can continue their winning ways and put in another battling display.
Steven Deutsch’s Pommeranz Juice Good Old Boys scored a fabulous 101 run victory over Chopper Harris’s Modi’in EasyIsrael with PJGOB’s total of 144, far too good for MEI’s 43.
After the match, Harris conceded that his team had been “outbatted, outbowled and outfielded by a quality team.
“I reckon they were trying to make up for England’s comprehensive victory in this year’s Ashes,” Harris said of the heavily Australian influenced PJGOB team. “What we’ve learned is that practice is a must and we’ll be on the top of our game for the next fixture after serious workouts in the nets,” he added.
In the final game of the week, it was the the everdominant Pearl Wanderers Cricket Club scoring a resounding 94 run victory over the KAT Israemploy Warriors.
Inspired by a superb bowling display by young Alex Lewis, who took three wickets in one over (the second time he has done this in the league this season) the Warriors were left in tatters scoring a lowly three runs.
David Wiseman, substituting as captain for Anthony Harris and Daniel Hyman, hit the only 6 of the match to cement PWCC’s spot at the top of the Plate League.
This week’s fixtures feature the derby of all derbies with the KAT Issraemploy Warriors coming up against the KAT Israemploy Tigers in a match that will go along way in deciding the fate of both teams this season.
The Warriors will have another game to play, this time against the Gold Insurance Bet Shemesh Lightning with Saturday evening’s first match between Telalivit and Super Lions Modi’in deciding who will end the week at the top of the CUP league.
