Israel's Andy Ram and his Belarusian doubles partner Max Mirnyi qualified for the quarter finals of the US Open on Sunday night.
The due defeated Simone Bolelli and Andreas Seppi of Italy, 7-6 (5), 6-7 (8), 6-2 in the third round at Flushing Meadows.
Meanwhile, Shahar Pe'er had less luck with her Argentine partner Gisela Dulko, as the two were knocked out of the women's doubles by third seeds Samantha Stosur and Rennae Stubbs of Australia 7-5, 6-3.
On Saturday night, Pe'er's best Grand Slam performance in the singles in over a year ended earlier than she had hoped.
The 22-year-old Israeli lost just six total games in the first two rounds of the US Open, but after a tight first set against world number 6 Svetlana Kuznetsova, fell apart in the second set and lost the match 7-5, 6-1.
The Russian, who has now beaten Pe'er in their last four encounters after losing their first two career meetings, opened a 4-1 lead in the first set, only for the Israeli to win three games on the trot and tie the score.
However, Pe'er was crucially broken in the 12th game, losing the set and failed to mount a comeback after falling to a 3-0 deficit in the second set.
