Weekend Walk: From Eilat to the Golan Heights!

Sound impossible to do it all in one day? Don't worry - during a visit to Mini Israel near Jerusalem the whole country really can be explored.

To reach Mini Israel, exit Route 1 at Latrun Junction and follow the brown signs. The park is situated 1km on the left hand side.

Mini Israel is basically just what the name suggests - a miniature version of Israel. The park is packed with mini models of the most famous landmarks in the country, including the Kotel, Tel Aviv's impressive skyline and Haifa's Baha'i Gardens. The park's attractions are somewhat divided geographically by region. Make sure to check out the large Jerusalem section which includes sites of interest connected to all the major religions. Other highlights include Masada, Rosh Hanikra and the hotels of Eilat. It must be said that some of the models are looking a little worse for wear and are in need of some care and attention. But overall Mini Israel is a great day out for all the family where everyone can learn new things about the country that they didn't previously know.  There is a Visitors’ Center with a food court, a souvenir shop, a miniature tree (bonsai) nursery and a meeting hall where a movie on the creation of the site is screened. The park is open from Sunday-Thursday 10:00-19:00, Friday 10:00-14:00, Saturday 10:00-19:00.
