Tree planting at the Biblical Zoo

Spending an afternoon at the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo in Malha is an easy and enjoyable way to get a little closer to nature in Jerusalem. This year the Zoo is celebrating Tu Bishvat a few days after the actual holiday with a tree planting party for the whole family.

The planting will take place at the Zoo's wolf exhibit, which is anticipated to open this coming spring. The event includes an arts and crafts workshop using materials from nature, as well as other workshops and snacks.Situated on beautiful, tranquil grounds, the Biblical Zoo makes a great day out for those who enjoy animals (many endangered species), beautiful flowers and trees.

Tree planting with the JNF

Join the thousands of school children, families and other groups who make their way to forests and woodlands around this time to plant saplings to mark the festival of Tu Bishvat.

One of the most traditional ways to celebrate this holiday in Israel is planting trees with the Keren Kayemet LeIsrael Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF). It is a simple way to connect to the environment and makes for a pleasant day out. Tree planting and related events are taking place all over Jerusalem and Israel, so make sure to call to find out more about what's happening near to you.
