Have you felt a distance grow between settlers and the average Israeli? In a two-state solution, should Jewish settlements be included in a Palestinian state? What is the biggest problem facing the Yesha Council today?
This week’s 20 Questions hosts Dani Dayan, the chairman of that Yesha Council, an umbrella organization of municipal councils of Jewish settlements in the West Bank and formerly the Gaza Strip.

When asked his thoughts on the two states model, Dayan insists that it is an illusion; not feasible on the ground, and will ultimately create more of a problem than a solution.
Dayan continued by saying that is it is a forgotten fact that in the last parliamentary elections, Hamas won  not only in Gaza but in Judea Samaria, and Jerusalem too. This means that either by coup de tat or elections,  Hamas will take control of Palestinian state in matter of weeks or months.
Dayan insists that the “price tag” incidents from settlers are terrible from both a moral and practical perspective. He said, "The notion that a Jewish person sets fire to the field of an innocent Arab is completely contrary to Jewish values and I condemn it in the strongest possible terms. It is also perhaps the single most dangerous factor to Judea and Samaria - second only to [US] President Barack Obama’s policies." Dayan did add however, that the "price tags" cannot be compared to the scale of terror carried out by Palestinian terrorists.
