Clashes erupted between Border Policemen and Palestinians near Damascus Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City on Monday night.

Two were arrested for involvement in the violent clashes and two more were detained, according to N12. A number of buses and private vehicles were reportedly damaged due to stone-throwing during the clashes.

Border Police allegedly expelled paramedics from the scene of the clashes, according to Palestinian media.

Four suspects were arrested in a brawl between Israeli and Palestinian youth near Damascus Gate on Sunday. Last week, hundreds of Palestinians were arrested near the Old City on Friday amid rising tensions in the city.

In a separate incident, a Border Policeman was attacked with stones and paint and an IDF combat soldier was lightly injured in the West Bank settlement of Yitzhar, according to Israeli media.

Last week, Palestinians expressed outrage and warned of an escalation after a court ruling on Wednesday implied support for allowing quiet prayer by Jewish visitors on the Temple Mount.

In addition, Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, including Gilboa Prison fugitive Zakaria Zubeidi, were conducting hunger strikes over the past week.

This is a developing story.
