The Israeli Defense Forces have a habit of over-achieving. In wars, military drills, and even training, they have been labeled as one of the most impressive armies in the world.

But snapping selfies?
Leaving no stone unturned, the Israeli military wanted to get in on the latest trend of impressive self-taken photos, and as usual, have gone above and beyond their call of duty.
The Israeli Air Force posted a picture on their official Facebook page Sunday morning, taken by a pilot as he flew upside down over Tel Aviv. Rabin Square is clearly visible above (or below) his head in the image captioned, "selfie." As of Sunday afternoon, the post had almost 4,000 likes.

The IDF spokesperson named the pilot as Major Ofer, and says he was flying the 'Efroni' trainer aircraft (Beechcraft T-6 Texan II) above Tel Aviv in a "traditional Air Force aerial demonstration."
Never mind Ellen Degeneres' infamous celebrity selfie taken at the Academy Awards last month, or Barack Obama's head-turning selfie at Nelson Mandela's funeral with Prime Minister David Cameron and Denmark's Prime Minister Helle Thorning Schmidt; this selfie takes the cake!

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has also tapped in on the trend. The premier snapped a self-taken picture with IDF Navy soldiers earlier this month.

While the official Air Force Facebook page usually censors faces to protect the identities of soldiers, this one was just too impressive to blur. Although the soldier is wearing protective face-gear, his eyes are visible.
There is no doubt this soldier knew his photo would be right up there among the best selfies of all time, so we really can't blame him for wanting to be the star of the photograph.
Followers of the Facebook page took to the post to comment just how impressed they were with the shot. Dianne Kay wrote, "Totally awesome! You guys are incredible!"
Massimiliano Cerruti was a bit frightened when he first saw the photo, claiming that it made him suffer "from vertigo," an illness associated with being afraid of heights.
Tzina Nechumah took a more humorous approach to show her gratitude for the post, saying "From one who gets dizzy wearing high heels, I gotta say: LOVE THIS."
