A Kassam rocket was fired at the western Negev late Monday night but landed in a Palestinian-controlled area in northern Gaza, the army said.
According to Southern Command officials, the "Red Dawn" early warning system has been installed in areas along the Gaza security fence sounded the alert.
The army said that the rocket was fired from an area between Beit Hanun and Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza.
