At the end of a meeting between Royal and the leader of the Quebec Separatist Party in Paris, the two issued a joint statement of agreement on the issue of Quebec sovereignity.
The Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper said that Royal's "interference in the affairs of another democracy is inappropriate."
