Most Israelis believe Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton would be the best US president for Israel, a Channel 10 survey showed Tuesday.

More than 60% said they would prefer Clinton over her rival Barack Obama for the Democratic candidacy, while only 16% said they wanted Obama to emerge victorious.
If Republican candidate John McCain ended up facing off with Obama for the US presidency, more than 30% said they would prefer Obama, while more than 42% said they wanted McCain to win.
If Clinton ran against McCain, 58% of those surveyed said they would want Clinton to win while 21% preferred the Republican candidate.
Regarding the question of which candidate would be best for Israel, 9.5% said Obama, 16.4% McCain and 53.2% said Clinton.
