Palestinian terrorists in Gaza fired seven Kassam rockets into southern Israel on Friday.
Two of the rockets landed in open areas near Sderot while Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilna'i was visiting the beleaguered town.
Vilna'i and his associates were forced to seek shelter when the Color Red warning siren sounded.
Another two rockets stuck the Sha'ar Hanegev region, and three more landed in open areas in the western Negev.
No one was wounded and no damage was reported in the attacks.
Vilna'i was visiting the western Negev town with Labor activists to participate in the "Valley Parliament" event - a meeting of municipal heads and residents of the Jezreel Valley.
Also visiting the town Friday were the director-general of Tel Aviv's Azrieli Towers and business representatives who arrived in a convoy of more than 20 taxis and distributed Purim food parcels to Sderot children. They were visiting a high school in the town when the Kassams struck.
Meanwhile, 30 batteries containing sulfuric acid were discovered on a Palestinian truck at Tapuah Crossing, south of Nablus, in a joint IDF, Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and Civil Administration operation overnight Thursday.
Israel has outlawed the possession of sulfuric acid in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip due to its use in the manufacture of weapons and explosives.
The army said that security forces would continue to operate against the transfer of prohibited substances into the Palestinian territories.
The IDF added that such substances are used as raw material for the manufacture of explosives used in terror attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers.
