A special needs aide was arrested on Monday on suspicion that her negligence caused the death of a three-year-old autistic boy, who lost his life after being strangled by his seatbelt on the ride home from school on Sunday.

Magen David Adom received a call reporting the incident late Sunday. Paramedics who arrived at the Netanya house immediately tried to resuscitate the boy, but he was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital.

During a police investigation into the incident, the boy's mother said that she realized he was unconscious when she boarded the school bus to help him off after it arrived at her house.

Police later began to suspect that the incident was a result of the boy being improperly secured into his seat, a suspicion that led to the arrest of his aide.
