The IDF is investigating at the highest level five recent attacks against civilian targets in Gaza, including two UN facilities and a hospital.

An army spokesman speaking on condition of anonymity under military guidelines said Saturday that preliminary investigations into all five incidents indicate that soldiers were responding to fire from or near the buildings hit.

But he said all five would be investigated at the command level and that the results would be made public at the same time.

They include a UN school housing refugees and the UN headquarters in Gaza City where a food warehouse was destroyed, as well as the shelling of the Al Quds hospital, a media center and the home of a well-known Palestinian doctor.
