A Beit Shemesh woman dubbed the 'Taliban mother' because of her insistence to wear multiple layers of clothes and covering her head and face, will be sentenced on Tuesday afternoon by Judge Nava Ben-Or of the Jerusalem District Court.
The woman, a mother of 12, was convicted in July of 25 counts of assault and three counts of child abuse after Ben-Or rejected the defense's argument that she was mentally ill.
The abuse, spanning over a decade, reportedly consisted of beatings with household items, imprisonment outdoors in stormy weather, starvation and mental abuse.
Her husband, the children's father, was also expected to be sentenced on Tuesday.
One of the woman's daughters, in her 30s, told Army Radio on Tuesday that the children had long since forgiven their mother for all they had undergone, adding that they did not wish to relive "things we have forgotten and been cured of."
