Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has consulted with ministers and Knesset factions ahead of implementing the second phase of the prisoner exchange deal with Hamas, London-based daily Asharq Alawsat reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, Netanyahu began the consultations last week after Hagai Hadas, who leads Israel's negotiating team, returned from a meeting with the German mediator in Cairo.

Hamas is insisting that Israel include Tanzim leader Marwan Barghouti and Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Secretary-General Ahmed Sa'adat among the Palestinian prisoners released in exchange for Schalit, the report claimed.
