Efthimios Mitropoulos, the Secretary General of International Maritime Organization (IMO), conducted a four-day visit to Iran ending on September 16, during which he met with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Motaki and discussed piracy problems in the Somalia waters and the Gulf of Aden.
Mitropoulos also met with representatives of and Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL Group), and praised Iran's "high maritime security level," according to the IRISL.
