A group of Israeli and Palestinian archaeologists has drafted an accord for the preservation of historic sites in Israel and the Palestinian territories, Army Radio reported Wednesday.

The group, which according to the report has been meeting for the past five years, has based the agreement on the principal that both Israelis and Palestinians have archeological sites which are important to them in each other's territories. The deal aims to allow free access to those sites to the Israeli and Palestinian public.

The draft has been presented to the Prime Minister's Office, the Foreign Minister's Office and the Antiquities Authority.
