Adnan Muzahim Amin al-Pachachi (born May 14, 1923) is an Iraqi politician. Pachachi was Iraq's Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 1959 to 1965 and its Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1965 to 1967; he again served as Permanent Representative to the UN from 1967 to 1968. After the Ba'ath Party seized power in 1968, he spent a long period in exile. Since the 2003 invasion of Iraq, Pachachi has been an important figure in Iraqi politics, often described as Iraq's elder statesman. He was President of the Iraqi Governing Council in January 2004.
