Robert Phillips "Bob" Corker, Jr. (born August 24, 1952), is the junior United States Senator from Tennessee. Before his election to the Senate in 2006, he served as state commissioner from 1995 to 1996 and as mayor of Chattanooga from 2001 to 2005. Corker was an unsuccessful candidate for the Senate in 1994, and a successful businessman as construction company owner and commercial real estate developer, prior to holding public office. He is second Republican US Senator from Chattanooga following Bill Brock. He serves as the ranking member on the Senate Aging Committee.
