Emergency Records was an Independent record label. It was founded in early 1979. It commercialized products which higlights the Italian disco sound of the late seventies and then 80's. At those time a lot of European production came from Germany, France & Italy. Those releases were introducting more electric instruments such as computers, and a lot of synthetizers. With the opposion to a BIG Bass groove and a disco tempo, this late disco tunes. Years 1981 & 1982 are the bests of the label with productions that mixed late disco emotions and heavy funky rhythm that made the EMERGENCY SOUND. As many independent labels, year 83 saw the label looking for some hits with new now-called "Dance-Music" and early electro tracks such as C.O. D and of course SHANNON. The international success of "Let The Music Play" allowed EMERGENCY to continue their story until 1988. But the majority of the production where now European Dance music and apart titles from such artists like AMII STEWART "Firends", and early garage titles by CAROLYN HARDING, the label falled into minor quality productions, even if P4F and TAFFY sold well. In 1989, it was closed down. In despite of this sad close, this label offers some vinyls that serious collectors must have in its discography.
