Friendship is a hamlet in Allegany County, New York, United States. The population was 1,176 at the 2000 census. The community is the principal settlement in the town of Friendship. Friendship hamlet is in the center of the town and is next to the Southern Tier Expressway and Van Campen Creek. Routes 17, 20, 31, and 275 converge in the hamlet. It is located on the mainline of the Western New York and Pennsylvania Railroad.
