Brace yourselves flamenco fans for a huge treat. This week, the Suzanne Dellal Center hosts a very distinguished guest: world-renowned performer and choreographer, Rafael Amargo. He brings to Israel his newest work, Intimo, a piece that will be performed by Amargo and his company, comprised of four dancers and seven musicians. Formed in 1997, Armargo and his company have since traveled around the world, delighting audiences with his take on Flamenco. It is not every day that a performer of Rafael Amargo's caliber takes the local stage. As a performer he is known for his grace, power and effortless charisma. The word most often associated with him is: electrifying. As a choreographer, Amargo blends traditional Flamenco vocabulary with an array of other styles of dance including modern and jazz. He recently choreographed the musical Zorro, which is being performed on Broadway and in London's West End. If you don't have the time or the means to make it out of the country this summer, Intimo will provide you with an authentic, exotic experience the likes of which are difficult to find, even abroad. Intimo is performed at the Suzanne Dellal Center from July 21 to 25. For more information visit www.suzannedellal.org.il
