After Maccabi Tel Aviv's loss final round loss at the Euroleague championship last week, many of the team's finer recent moments will be revisited as part of a documentary airing tonight for the first time. The film, Saras of the State, focuses on former Maccabi point guard Sarunas "Saras" Jasikevicius, who left the team last August to play in the NBA for the Indiana Pacers. Opening not long before Maccabi's victory at the 2005 Final Four, the film follows Jasikevicius to his new home in Indiana, charting his relationship with former teammates and with his Israeli girlfriend. Directed by Israeli filmmaker Dani Avner, the film airs at 8 p.m. on Channel 2.
