Stendhal Prevenance Rides anti-aging facial cream from its Recette Merveilleuse series is a delightful moisturizing cream for day and nighttime. A friend reported that it has a rich texture and a lovely floral fragrance. Following application her skin had a luxurious feeling that was retained even until the following morning. Her skin is a bit sensitive so it caused slight stinging the first two times she used it, though this subsided by the third application. Although it is nice to have one cream for both day and night, our test subject said she likes her day cream to have a considerable SPF factor, especially in the summer months. Stendhal Prevenance Rides is available at the April stores for NIS 325. My oldest daughter, who is blessed with thick, curly hair, was willing to try out the Careline Moisturizer Cream for Natural Curls even though she prefers to use creams that straighten her hair. The cream has to be applied on towel-dried hair after shampooing, and is not rinsed out. She liked the fragrance, and said it left the hair feeling soft. You can use the cream to style individual curls as well, if you want to take the time to do this. The Careline Moisturizer Creams, containing the Vital 10 complex with vitamins, are also available for dry hair, dyed hair and normal hair; the price for a 400-ml. bottle is NIS 23. Jewelry designer Mariana has a new line of bracelets, earrings, rings and necklaces for the coming fall season, with purple as one of the dominant colors. Mariana uses darker and lighter purple stones in her creations, and in the bracelet we received, dark-purple amethyst-type squares are combined with gold-colored flowers with a light green stone in the heart, and gold colored stones with a subtle pattern of small light purple and brown stones. Together, they create an elegant pattern with warm colors of the autumn. The prices for bracelets start at NIS 380, necklaces start at NIS 350, rings at NIS 150 and earrings at NIS 250; to find out where you can get Mariana's jewelry near you, call (09) 741-5893. Another purple fashion item is Bulgari Omnia Amethyste, a new fragrance from Bulgari. The bottle holding this eau de toilette, which is designed like two interlocking sheer amethyst and silver rings, looks so beautiful that a friend has it on display in her living room. The floral scent is on the sweet side, but not overbearing, and wonderful to wear during this holiday season. A 40-ml. bottle is NIS 380, and 65 ml. is NIS 478. My youngest daughter is a big fan of the irreverent cartoon character Sponge Bob Square Pants, and was thrilled with the Orbitol toothpaste for kids which has the likeness of Sponge Bob and his starfish friend Patrick on the tube. The toothpaste has a grape flavor and tastes rather sweet, so what's not to like for a kid with a sweet tooth like mine? Hopefully it also does its job preventing more cavities as well. Orbitol toothpaste for children contains fluoride; a 70-gr. tube is NIS 9. The idea of putting on suntan oil with carrots is a little weird, but two companies have come up with carrot suntan oil this summer. A friend who likes to use oil instead of lotion (I personally cannot stand it) found both Dr. Fischer's Ultrasol and Skingard's oil to be pleasant in use. The oil is dark and gives the skin a nice glow. Both suntan oils contain a sun protection factor of 15, which is the minimum you should use. If you have very fair skin or burn easily, this won't be a great product, but those who tan easily will enjoy the glow this product provides. Both oils are NIS 70 a bottle.
