Harduf now has organic chocolate spread, a healthier choice for your kids' sandwich. The spread comes in three varieties: regular chocolate, chocolate hazelnut and carob; the price for the organic spread is a little high: NIS 19.90 for a 350-gr. jar. Green Tree apple chips are a tasty and healthy snack, without added sugar or artificial coloring. The apple chips are available at selected supermarkets at NIS 5 for a 22 gr. bag, or NIS 9 for a 43-gr. bag. The Wissotzky line of herbal teas has been expanded with three new quite tasty varieties: red orange and mandarin, and apple-cinnamon punch in the "Magic Garden" series, and, in the Galil herb teas series, lemongrass-verbena-melissa. A box containing 25 tea bags is NIS 13.70 to NIS 14.85. Two new light pastramis by Of Tov are the Santorini Pastrami with olives and herbs, containing 1.5 percent fat, and the Corsica Pastrami with red peppers and herbs, containing only 1% fat; the price for a 300-gr. box is NIS 19.90. Two new special flavors of the Strauss Cremissimo ice creams will probably be more appealing to adults than to kids. The two special flavors are Irish Cream-cappuccino, and vanilla-orange peel. These rich ice creams contain 33% fat, and cost NIS 20.90 for a 1.33-liter box. The Spices cook stores sell yummy marinades and sauces that make preparing dishes easy. The white whine and orange sauce we tried in a chicken dish tasted fine, although some thought it was a little bland. Other marinades available are sherry-garlic, BBQ and Thai; the price for a bottle is NIS 25.90. Anything figuring the Bratz dolls will make my youngest daughter happy, so the new heart-shaped Cheetos-Bratz corn-peanut snacks were happily received in our house; a bag, containing a little tattoo, is NIS 3.50.
