Although Zogloweck is best known for its meat products, it's now marketing vegetable burgers and patties that are rich in vitamins and minerals, and contain only 5 percent fat. A 650 gr. bag is NIS 25 (NIS 20 until the end of November). Also quite yummy are the Zogloweck patties made of lentils and the grain quinoa, coming in two versions, one with peppers and pine nuts, and one with pesto and pine nuts; a 600 gr. bag is NIS 26.90. To make the transition from formula to regular milk easier, Tnuva has come up with a milk made especially for kids which is sweeter than the regular variety (it does contain added sugar). The milk for kids is aimed at children ages two to six; a one-liter carton is NIS 7.95, and a small bottle, which can be brought to kindergarten/school, is NIS 3.49. The Golan wineries have two new wines on the shelves, one of them being the Moscato 2006 (the first wine of the year 2006), a slightly bubbly white wine that is on the sweeter side, and therefore suitable to drink as a dessert wine, but which also makes a good aperitif; one bottle is NIS 33. The Pinot Noir 2003 is an excellent red wine that goes well with many dishes, such as fish or roasted goose; the price for a bottle is NIS 99. Mama Off has sliced turkey roast, made from turkey breast, containing only 1% fat. The turkey roast can be used to prepare a sandwich, or eaten as part of your main dish (with some gravy or other sauce, otherwise it is a little dry); the price is NIS 6.90 per 100 gr., and each package contains about 280 gr. New pastas by Osem are the Perfecto Oro spaghetti, gemelli (a spiral shaped pasta), spirali, farfalline, and lumaconi (a shell shaped pasta), made from 100% durum wheat. The packaging already hints at a higher quality pasta; a 500 gr. box is NIS 7.95. Kids usually like corn schnitzels, and if they come in interesting shapes, they might even be more appealing. Tivol's new gimmick is the star-shaped and wheel-shaped corn schnitzels, available for a limited period of time only. A 700 gr. package of the wheel-shaped schnitzels is NIS 24, and a 600 gr. package containing 20 star-shaped schnitzels is NIS 22. Terra offers very tasty and healthy chips made from root vegetables, and the Terra Blues, made from naturally blue potatoes, are delicious too, even though the color is a little weird. These Terra potato chips are not cheap, NIS 14.90 for a 110 gr. bag, but are worth the splurge. A tasty dessert for those who like it sweet are the new Eden chocolate Bavaria pudding, and Kadaif (cream with noodles on top). Each individual-size Eden dessert is NIS 5.90.
