An Italian bistro by day, Rustico dims the lights at night and transforms its kitchen bar into a cozy, warm alternative to the louder, pick-up style, urban resto-bars in Tel Aviv's Rothschild area.
The friendly cook-bartenders prepare cocktails along with the appetizers, pizzas, pastas, and steaks. The raw ingredients -, pastas, and doughs - are prepared in the back by an immigrant Jewish Italian couple and concocted into flavorful Italian favorites by the cooks behind the bar.
Those sitting at the bar watch the dishes in their making as they go in and out of the hearth, which, along with the wooden and homey d cor, seals the authentic Italian rustic atmosphere.
