Nash Nash, a humous company in the Misgav region, has come out with a series of "home-made" humous, tehina and spicy salads supposedly drawn from different areas in Galilee. Some of the varieties are humous and tehina, humous with mushrooms, humous with garlic, olive oil and parsley, green tehina, a spicy salad of green or red peppers and hot peppers and a bean salad with humous, olive oil, lemon and parsley. The Nash Nash products are available in Supersol, Tiv Ta'am and other selected supermarkets; prices range from NIS 7.90 to NIS 14.90. A wonderful red wine you can enjoy with a meal in your succa is Yarden Merlot 2003. This wine will be a nice accompaniment to rich, spicy food as well; you can find the Yarden Merlot in selected wine stores for NIS 101 a bottle. Water & Energy is a drink that claims to help charge up your batteries, and its latest flavor is watermelon-litchi. Ginseng and caffeine are added to the water to give you an extra boost. Water & Energy is available in AM:PM, Yellow stores, Tiv Ta'am and neighborhood markets at NIS 6-NIS 7 for a 0.5 liter bottle. Alpro soy pudding desserts are now made according to a new recipe, with more added calcium. The vanilla-flavor puddings we ate tasted fairly bland, but maybe people who eat soy products on a regular basis will appreciate the difference. Alpro soy puddings are also available in caramel and chocolate (with Belgian chocolate); a four-pack is NIS 18. Mizra now has 12 types of sliced meat in vacuum-packed containers. The sliced meat is available in Tiv Ta'am stores and is obviously not kosher, since one of the varieties is salami made from pork. A 400 gr. package is NIS 24.90 to NIS 27.90. Tara has a new type of lite butter with garlic and dill. It contains about half the fat, cholesterol and calories of regular butter; a 200 gr. tub is NIS 10.55. Aviv Quality Cookies has a series of nine different cookies that are now sold for only NIS 10 at the Supersol Deal stores. The flavors are chocolate chips, two types of "Moroccan" cookies, whole wheat granola, vanilla and cookies filled with date spread, chocolate, hazelnut or halva. The introductory price of NIS 10 is valid until after the holidays. Pyrex has good-quality baking dishes, and the new Elegance series also looks beautiful with oval-shaped and rectangular dishes with a minimalist look. The Elegance series of Pyrex glass dishes has a warranty of 20 years; prices range from NIS 115 to NIS 135.
