The European Academy of Film announced on Saturday that the Israeli movie Lebanon has been nominated for five European Film Awards.Lebanon will compete in the Best Movie, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Editing categories in the European equivalent of Hollywood's Oscars.RELATED:Film: Falling in love in – and with – JerusalemIsrael's 'Intimate Grammar' wins at Tokyo Film FestivalLebanon was released almost two years ago in Israel on October 19, 2009. It was written and directed by first-time filmmaker Samuel Maoz.The movie portrays the experiences of an Israeli tank crew during the First Lebanon War and is based on Maoz's personally traumatic experience as a combatant in the First Lebanon War.The 2010 EFA awards ceremony will be held in Tallinn, Estonia on December 4, 2010.
