Veteran American musician will sign off the summer in style with his Israel debut on October 6 at Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv.
The eclectic classic rocker has sold over 35 million albums since his sparkling 1989 debut Let Love Rule.
The four-time Grammy winner has successfully combined hard rock, soul, funk and the guitar sounds of Prince, Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles into a name-that-source musical goulash. He’s been on a roll, with his 2008 album It is Time For a Love Revolution marking his highest ever debut on the album charts and his 2011 release Black and White America also being well received, including the singer opening up stadium shows for U2.
Kravitz is the son of the late actress Roxie Roker and Jewish NBC News producer Sy Kravitz, and describes himself as “half Jewish, half black.”
He was married to actress Lisa Bonet.
