A 20-year-old resident of the Zichron Ya'acov area was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of imprisoning his girlfriend, 19, in order to commit non-consensual intercourse with her.

Earlier, the girlfriend complained to police that her boyfriend had locked her up in his house and threatened her with violence if she would not have sex with him.

The man was remanded on Saturday night.
