Police arrested two Arab men from east Jerusalem for attacking a 57-year-old
Jewish man in the Old City on Saturday afternoon. Using the Mabat 2000 system,
which employs hundreds of security cameras around the Old City, police were able
to identify the suspects even after they had changed clothes.
According
to an initial investigation, the suspects, in their 20s, were looking for random
Jews to attack, and chose the victim because he was alone. They beat him and
then fled. The victim was taken to the hospital with light injuries and released
after treatment.
