Bomb kills 8 Iraqi soldiers north of Baghdad

BAGHDAD – Iraqi officials say a bombing in the town north of Baghdad, Sadiyah, has killed eight Iraqi army soldiers Wednesday.

Police and army officials say the incident occurred in the volatile Diyala province when a gunman opened fire from a house near an Iraqi army checkpoint after soldiers called in support and surrounded the house. The house blew up, killing the eight soldiers and wounding another four.
