Child support bill passes Knesset vote in first reading

The Knesset on Tuesday passed in its first reading a bill authored by MK Dov Henin (Hadash) that requires the National Insurance Institute to pay child support to mothers and children in need even if in the event that she makes a trip outside the country.
"Taking a trip outside Israel does not necessarily signal wealth," Henin said of the bill, adding "It is important to extend the duty of the National Insurance Institute in order to ensure the rights of women and children in need of child support."
