Clinton heads to Egypt for next round of peace talks

WASHINGTON — US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton left Washington for Egypt on Monday for the next round of direct peace talks.

Clinton and former Sen. George Mitchell, US President Barack Obama's special envoy to the region, plan to be in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheik for talks Tuesday with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
