Corporations to report on environmental issues

The Knesset Finance Committee approved on Wednesday new regulations drawn up by the Environmental Protection Ministry and the Israel Securities Authority requiring corporations to include environmental issues in their reports to the authority.

The corporations will have to divulge information regarding environmental risks and outlays for environmental rehabilitation such as cleaning up pollution. The effect of new environmental legislation and any new suits resulting from them must also be included in the report. The company’s environmental management practices must also be disclosed.
