SEOUL - The hacking attack on servers of South Korean broadcasters and banks on Wednesday originated from an IP address based in China but the identity of the persons responsible remains unclear, South Korean communications regulators said.

"We've identified that a Chinese IP has connected to the organizations affected," a spokesman of South Korea's Communications Commission told a press conference on Thursday.
