The IDF issued collective citation to the Duvdevan elite unit for its security operations over the past year.

The army said the unit led operations in Central Command and the West Bank over the past year. Duvdevan’s members sometimes disguise themselves as Palestinian rioters during unrest, before arresting ringleaders. Often, they lead nighttime counter-terrorism raids on the locations of suspects.

“The unit took part in hundreds of operations, in complex combat conditions, to arrest suspects,” the IDF said. It added that Duvdevan “developed and deployed unique combat means that amplified its operational effectiveness, and heightened the ability of the undercover combat soldier.”
