EU condemns Israel over east Jerusalem

BRUSSELS — The European Union is condemning Israel's intent to continue building in east Jerusalem, saying it represents an obstacle to international peace efforts.
EU foreign ministers on Monday described as "unacceptable" Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's announcement that Israel will not restrict further construction.
British Foreign Secretary David Miliband said the settlements were "illegal as well as being a roadblock" in the effort to achieve peace through a two-state solution.
Visiting Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman will meet individually with the foreign ministers of Finland, Germany, Lithuania and Malta, but not with the entire 27-member body.
