Early morning light rain falls in central Israel

Light rain fell in Tel Aviv and other areas of central Israel in the early hours of the morning on Sunday.

Rain was reported in Rishon Lezion and in the area of the Ben-Gurion International Airport.

It marked the first time that rain had fallen in Israel during the current summer, a rare occurence that does not repeat itself on a yearly basis.

Clear skies and rising temperatures were expected for central areas for the remainder of the day.
